Google Analytics For Bloggers | Beauty In Beta

Howdy lovlies,

I hope you are all well this lovely Tuesday? Well, on my last SEO post I did a little poll on what you’d like to have a post on next, and the majority said Google Analytics, so here we go! Sorry it’s taken so long to get this out. 🙂

Obviously I’m no expert, but I use Google Analytics daily for clients at work, so I thought I’d put together a little post on what exactly GA is, and how to get it on your site.
I’m going to talk a bit about how to apply this to your blog, and how to get yourself set up. Unfortunately this only applies to those who have a Blogger blog or a self hosted WordPress, as I’m not familiar with any others! You’re unable to use GA on a site (one hosted through WordPress), so you’ll have to stick to the stats tab of their blog, sorry!

SEO Tips For Blogging (Pt 3 – Off Page SEO) | Beauty In Beta

Howdy lovlies,

Hope you are all well? Apologies that this has been a bit longer than last time, but it took a bit longer to write! This part of the SEO posts is all about Off-Page SEO, what it is, and how to use it to your advantage!

I’m going to step things up a bit, and I may not explain all of the terms fully, so I would definitely recommend reading Part One (Basics of SEO) and Part Two (On-Page SEO) first before moving onto this part! 🙂 This is quite a long post, so I apologise in advance, but hopefully it’s not too much!

Well, What Is Off Page SEO?

Off page SEO has the same desired effect as on page SEO, but it’s more to do with promotional methods to rank you higher, rather than content already on your site.  It refers to the boundaries outside the website, out in the interwebs and the world!

The main elements of off page SEO that I’m going to focus on are:

  • Link Building
  • Social Media
  • Social Bookmarking

Simply put, if you’re interested in increased exposure, higher rankings and increases in traffic, then you’ll want to be looking at your off-page SEO. Firstly, I’ll look at link building. Link building is basically the technique of getting more inbound links to your page, in turn showing Google that you are a popular little bee!

There are a few ways you can do this without being deemed as spam:

  • Natural External and Internal Link Building
  • Anchor Texts
  • Alt Tags
  • Social Networking

SEO Tips For Blogging (Pt 2 – On Page SEO) | Beauty In Beta

Howdy lovlies,
Hope you’re well? Thanks so much for the lovely responses to my last post, part 1 of SEO Tips For Blogging. Was a bit nervous about it, as it’s so different than anything I’ve done on here before!
Now that I’ve started to put everything down, I’ve  realised there’s going to have to be more than two parts to this! In this post, I’m going to talk about On Page SEO, mainly SEO copywriting (which is my speciality, and what I trained in), then in the next post I’m going to talk about Off Page SEO (alt tags, optimising URLs, link building, social media etc).
When you’re writing your posts, you’re thinking about the reader, right? Well yes, that’s true, but you want it to get noticed too? And to get noticed, you need it to be searchable, and this is where SEO Copywriting comes in. When you start to adjust your posts to make them SEO friendly, this is calling optimising it.

Without doing this optimising of posts, even a site which has the best design and best pictures in the world, would struggle to get noticed. Content covers all areas in your blog, anywhere where there is writing is available to be optimised. Getting the right balance with this can drastically increase your page views, readership and engagement.
In this post I’m going to give you some tips of how to achieve this! Continue reading

SEO Tips For Blogging (Pt 1)| Beauty In Beta

Howdy lovlies,

Hope you are all well? Some of you may or may not know that for my day job I work in Digital Marketing, and have done for a few years now . I began working as an SEO Copywriter, but now have my fingers in all areas of the Digital Marketing pie, from SEO, to PPC (Pay-Per-Click), Affiliate Marketing and Reputation Management, to name a few.

A while back on my giveaway post, I did lots of blog SEO consultations which I loved doing, because I felt like I was helping, even a little, so I thought it might be useful to write a post up putting everything in one place.

I’m going to split this into a few parts as it’ll probably be way too long otherwise!  I’m going to talk about SEO and SEO Copywriting in these posts, because I think it’s most relevant to blogging, but if there is interest I’d be happy to do more posts on certain topics or other types of marketing in the digital world.

This first part is just going to explain a bit about what SEO is, and how it works, then the second part will be tips of how to use this information to your advantage on your blog.

What Is SEO?

You’ve probably seen the term SEO floating about, and probably wondering what exactly it means. Well, it stands for Search Engine Optimisation, and to put it simply, it’s the practise of getting the right exposure for your website/posts etc. SEO is so super important to help you increase visibility of your blog and in turn increase traffic and readers. If you want your blog to stand out from the rest, it’s important to make sure that you’re doing what you can to give your blog the best chance of being noticed.  Continue reading
